Stupid Stuff

Sometimes I think people are so ignorant. They say some of the dumbest stuff. The other day we were at a little boutique buying Addi some new clothes and a lady came up to me and said, "AWWW! Is that her natural color hair?" ... ummm, you idiot she's 6 weeks old... of coarse that's not her natural color hair. We hold her by her ankles and dip her head in bleach once a week. I mean was she serious??


Another thing that really irks me is when people say, "aww, so she's an albino!" .... NO! She is not albino. She is a baby... a baby that just happens to have albinism. Do you call a child with down syndrome a downer?? NOOOO! Don't label my child. Now i know a lot of people with albinism that don't mind using the world "albino," but I absolutely hate it! Maybe one day Addi wont care, but I do!



Back on the hair thing, another dumb thing that happened to us was... We were at Babies R Us buying bottles and a bottle warmer a couple of weeks ago and Addi was with us. We were standing in line to check out and this guy started peeking into the stroller at Addi. I mean he was trying really hard to see her... he was on his tip-toes trying to peer down into her seat and see her... funny really. I was watching out of the corner of my eye. I guess all of a sudden he got a good glimpse because he jumped up and said REALLY loud... "GOOD LORD!Have ya'll seen her hair?" LOL! I wanted to say.. Well, no... who's child is this?? I've never seen her in my life...! OF COARSE we have seen her hair!! People are sooo funny!

Since Addi is so sensitive to the light, she sleeps a lot during the day and comes alive at night! I'm talking she's laughing and ready to party at 2 a.m. Sometimes it gets frustrating, but it's hard not to laugh at the little toot. Well, people ask me all the time how she sleeps, and when I tell them they say.. "keep her awake so she will sleep at night!" Is this possible? You try to keep an infant awake! It's a lot harder than it sounds. A couple weeks ago my mom attempted this tedious task. She said "Addison, you are going to stay awake for a while so you sleep better tonight." I chuckled to myself... this was gonna be fun!! About 15 minutes later Addison starts dozing off. She was sitting up going to sleep. My mom said, "Addi.. open your eyes!" nothing.. she started kissing her face and talking to her.. NOTHING! Then all of a sudden in the loudest voice you can imagine my mom started singing " THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND.. ROUND AND ROUND!" 10 minutes later... Addi was asleep! :)



... I'm sure i will add more stupid stuff people do later... I'm done for tonight!!
